If you are a regular reader, you’ve probably noticed by now that I like to make wreaths.
I recently saw a wreath in a store that looked beautiful and wanted to see if I could make something similar (which is actually the origin story for most of my wreaths…) Of course, once you buy all the supplies to make a wreath it ends up costing as much (if not more) as buying the wreath would have been… but that’s beside the point.
(see my warning at the bottom of this post before you attempt to make this yourself)
For this wreath I bought a branch wreath frame, artificial flowers in the colors/styles I wanted, and some “extras” such as the little artificial berry things and some artificial leaves. Also I used my hot glue gun. A lot.
After getting all my supplies ready, I arranged the flowers on the wreath frame roughly where I wanted them and used the glue gun to secure them to the frame.
Next I glued some of the “berries” mixed in around the flowers.
Finally, the leaves! Same thing- I just glued the leaves mixed in around the inner and outer edges of the circle. At first I just did a few, but realized it needed more and just kept adding.
There you go!
However… I do need to throw a warning out here.
I have used my hot glue gun a LOT since I was pretty young. I haven’t burned myself since I was a teenager. Doing this project I either got lazy or was going to fast or whatever. It does use a lot of hot glue though and I gave myself a lovely little second degree burn on my finger.
So just remember to be very careful. Hot glue guns are hot. Burns hurt at any age.
