Is My Head Really That Big??

I love to crochet hats. They work up so fast and it’s always so rewarding to have a pretty, new, hat at the end of the day. But I have one problem… every time I follow a pattern for an “adult size” hat- it seems to be way too small. Is my head that big?!

I made this hat tonight based on THIS pattern. I love the pattern and it works up quick. But for my head (and my mom’s) it’s too small! I know I just need to add in another row or two of increase, but it’s still frustrating. And it’s nothing wrong with the pattern, because I seem to have this problem with most hat patterns.

This is a Christmas hat that I made last year using a different (but I’m realizing startlingly similar) pattern. I ended up having to add THREE increase rows to it.

Does anyone else have this problem? Or do I just have a monstrous head? LOL!

LOL I always end up making hats too big because I think that it looks too small when I’m making it. πŸ˜€
