Dresden Table Topper

This week I have been making kitchen curtains for my mom (pics will come soon- I need to get them to her to hang up first!) and I wanted to make a table topper for her as well.

She has a circular kitchen table and I’ve made some pretty basic ones for her before, but I wanted this one to be really feminine and pretty, and of course done in the same fabric as the curtains.

I’ve wanted to try my hand at the Dresden style for a while, and so this was my first attempt. I love the way it looks (although I did learn how to do it a little better next time). I used some Dresden size templates that I got HERE (found through Pinterest). Having those templates really helped a lot!

Although I can see a lot of things I messed up… overall I think it turned out pretty well. I am wanting to make one for my coffee table now!  Have you done any Dresden style sewing? Any tips??

I love that pattern, but I never knew what it was called! I think you did a great job – I don’t see any flaws in your sewing. Based on the fabric for the table topper I bet the curtains are just gorgeous!! 😀
