I think I did good last week with my health goals. I didn’t eat quite as well as I should have but still a lot better than if I wasn’t trying! I exercised 5 of the last 7 days and did yoga 6 of the last 7 days… so that’s good right!
For my exercising I’m basically just doing the treadmill and some walks outside. On the treadmill I have been averaging around 30 minutes (sometimes 20, sometimes 40) and between 1 to 2 miles. Considering how out of shape I am… that’s pretty awesome for me!
My right foot is giving me issues though. I have had multiple surgeries because I don’t have any cartilage in the knuckle that connects my big toe to my foot. At one point I was told I would eventually have to have an amputation and that I should not walk but only ride bikes or swim for exercise. I was told to use a cane, like all the time. I did that for a while, then got a second doctor’s opinion who told me basically to do whatever I want to do and we will see what happens in the future. So, I am walking and trying to work myself up to jogging. I don’t use a cane anymore (it’s actually been a couple years). But, I get blisters on that toe a lot and I definitely have to pay attention to how it’s feeling to judge how much I can walk/jog that day. I think as I lose weight it should feel a little better though.
Now for the really depressing part though…
I gained 3 pounds.
Yup… after all my hard work, I am fatter than I was to begin with. I feel better though, so that’s what is important right?
I’ve only just started so I’m going to keep going and pay even more attention to my food journal this week and I’ll check in again next Monday!
