Game Review: Civilization VI

It’s been a while since I did a game review. Last week I got a little distracted with the opening of my Etsy store (which you should totally check out) so I didn’t stick to my normal schedule… sorry!

For those of you who may be new here, thank you for visiting! I try to follow a schedule of Monday & Thursday game reviews and Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday crafting/sewing/etc posts. On Saturdays I like to do a recap of what games I’ve been playing and anything else interesting.

So, today I’m talking about Sid Meier’s Civilization VI. I’m pretty sure I’ve played all of the Civ games from the beginning, and each one seems to get better and better. My only complaint is that they got rid of the throne room decorating from Civ 1 and 2. That was a cheesy feature that really had nothing to do with the game and I completely understand why they got rid of it… but I liked it!

Anyway, Civilization VI (6) is awesome. The graphics are better than ever, the gameplay is smooth. I have played several single player games as well as multiplayer with my brother and hubby.

A turn based historical strategy game, in Civ you can be one of the leaders of a country and play through all of time to the space age. There are several different ways to win such as cultural, religious, domination, science, and score.

I will admit, there do seem to be some bugs they need to work out. However, overall I give this game two thumbs up and recommend it for anyone. Hey, as a kid I even learned some history through playing Civ!

And, as always- I received nothing for doing this review. It’s just my honest opinion about a game I enjoy. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at
