Crochet Tetris Blanket

img_4240Ever since I first learned how to crochet I have wanted to make a blanket based off of the game Tetris. Finally, I did it! It is so soft and comfy too! I gave it to my brother as a Christmas gift, and now I’m going to have to make another for myself.

Because of intellectual property licensing stuff I will sadly not be able to make these blankets to list on my Etsy store (at least not until Tetris gives me the okay). However, if you’d like to make one for your own personal use or a gift it’s not that hard really… just very time consuming.

To make this blanket I simply crocheted some basic img_4247granny squares to a 4″ x 4″ size each. I made 8 yellow, 8 green, 8 blue, 12 red, 12 light blue, 12 purple, and 12 orange, and 78 black (for a total of 150 squares). Obviously you can do whatever type of pattern you would like with them! I made my own pattern, making sure that none of the rows were completed (because in Tetris they would have then disappeared!… a winning game would make a boring blanket!). Once you have it all planned out, simply sew or crochet the squares together.  I then bordered the blanket with a dark grey stitch.
